Tam tam Orchestra was established in 1999, and today the band consists of seven musicians. Band leader Miloš Vacík sings and plays a custom-built drum set, ethnic drums and percussion instruments. Singer and dancer Tereza Petrášová also plays cavaqinho and various percussion. Percussionists Martin Kreuzberg and Flavinha Torga Fernandes Pinto from Rio de Janeiro enriches the rhythms with a range of Afro-Brazilian and Cuban instruments. The rhythm section is accompanied by guitarist Jakub Hlobil and bassist Martin Drahoňovský. Radim Knapp complements with a trompet and percussion.
The whole formation adds up to a danceable, groovy band inspired by ethno and world music. The band is mainly, but not exclusively, influenced by Brazilian, Cuban and African rhythms. Tam-Tam Orchestra's shows are riveting entertainment, equally suitable in a nightclub, on a festival stage or at a dance party.
