A BANQUET was founded by Mathieu and Michael in the summer 2009 after they split from their previous bands – as they wanted to do music full-time. In October they finally found Richard, so the band considers October 2009 the beginning of A Banquet.

The band defined its own music style FUTU-ROLL (which represents a mix of 60s, 70s and early 80s along with indie, electro, nu-rave and many more independent genres) and at the beginning of 2010 they released a same-titled demo EP that included 4 songs. Shortly after A Banquet offered the EP for free download and handed it out at shows. They distributed over 300 copies of the disk and in June they put the demo up for download again – for a couple of weeks – because of a big demand from the fans.

But what the band enjoys the most is definitely playing live! In February 2010 A Banquet started concert-packed spring – „READY FOR FUTU-ROLL?!“ Tour. In April, in the middle of the tour, the band recorded a debut single Dark Streets, produced by Boris Carloff (leading Czech producer – Kryštof, Sunshine etc.) who chose A Banquet for collaboration. Dark Streets remix was done by Armin Effenberger who is well-known for his collaboration with Moby for instance. The remix was shortly after played by Pavel Kučera on Expres radio. In June Dark Streets were released on a prestigious compilation SoundCzech by Report Magazine.

Also playing with A Banquet is the rock band Dead Pope's Company. In 2008 this band recorded a demo called Guess who’s dead which was downloadable for free on the internet. In the beginning of 2009, there were a couple of personal changes in the original band’s constitution and the band started to practice hard in order to reach the current appearance.

During its existence, Dead Pope’s Company performed many concerts and they caught attention of a wide range of fans who so nostalgically favor Dead Pope’s Company because of their resemblance to the bands of 70’s and 80’s, as well.
